Still have a way to go on this, but it is coming along.

I just posted the Corel Snoop Dogg Tutorial videos to my youtube channel. All of the audio has been FIXED, so you can actually hear what I am saying now! Please feel free to comment and please take a second to rate them.

Part four…

This is a sketch of rapper/actor Mos Def that I have been meaning to paint for a while. I plan to give him the Tyson treatment. I have a break between jobs coming up, so I will probably start soon.

I met Mos back when I was working in the basements of Ecko, before he really blew up. He was really grounded and had a ton of energy, so I want that to come across in my paint. I’ll keep you updated as the piece comes together, but for now here is my initial drawing. As always, I’ll dial in the likeness as I paint…

Big thanks to my friend Cognito at Frolab for supplying me with some great concert shots to use as reference!

I started this painting of Mike Tyson this summer and kind of got sidetracked. Like many of my personal pieces it just sat around until I found it again. I have a little free time so I thought I’d finish now. Here is what I have so far…

In case you missed it or want to see my Corel Seminar from last Friday, you can see it here. Please note the sound for the moderator is loud and my voice is not, so you might have to adjust your volume to hear me. Let me know if you have any questions or comments about it.

Only a couple more hours until my live Corel Painter tutorial. There is still space to join and watch. I haven’t slept in a couple of days, but I drank a pot of coffee, so it’s on! See you there! Sign up for Today’s free session here.

Friday November 5th I’ll will be doing a FREE webinar for Corel Painter. In this live 30 minute paint session, I will be detailing my workflow and illustration process from start to finish. I’ll be discussing my techniques and tools first hand. If you click this link you can register to join me. The fine folks over at Corel will be moderating a Q&A after, so I can answer any questions you might have. This is the first time I’ve ever taken part in anything like this, so I’ve chosen someone special to paint. Here is a sneak peek…

Working Snoop

If you or anyone you know likes my work and wants to see one of my paintings from go from a line drawing to finished paint, I hope you will join me this Friday @ 1PM est. for a half an hour session. It’s Free! Please register here and tell a friend to do the same! Please share.

After it’s over I’m inviting everyone over to my studio for milk and cookies!

I’m working on this illustration just as a promotional piece. Hopefully I can use it for something once the new season starts. I have a lot to do yet on the likenesses. Just thought I’d share and post something new. Still trying to figure out what I am going to do with Randy’s dog collar and everyone’s shirt. Also need to add a hand for Jennifer so it doesn’t look like Randy has an extra head. As always click the image to see it a larger version.
